Admits: The Working Library is open to all members of Christ’s College. Other interested parties are only admitted on an exceptional basis, by appointment.

 

Special collections may be accessed by anyone with a genuine research interest by appointment.

Stock: Working Library: ca. 40,000 post-1900 printed books -- Old Library: ca. 50,000 pre-1900 printed books, manuscripts and personal papers.
Special collections: Substantial holdings relating to John Milton and Charles Darwin, Hutton bequest of Persian manuscripts, Stephen Gaselee collection of Coptic manuscripts, Lesingham Smith collection of early-mathematical books and Robertson Smith collection of materials in oriental languages.
Services: Wireless internet access, networked PCs, printing, photocopying and scanning facilities.
Opening hours: Term: Mon-Sun 24 hours (for College members only)
Vacation: Mon-Sun 24 hours (for College members only)

 

The Working Library is staffed Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.

The Old Library is currently closed to visitors.

Special Collections may be consulted Monday to Friday 10am-12pm and 2-4:30pm by prior appointment. Please email library@christs.cam.ac.uk for further information.
